Metrics includes two tools to change the color of Rhino Geometries:
Color by Category: this tool allows you to change the color of those geometries that have been assigned a Category Parameter. This tool does not change the layer of a Rhino object, it only changes its display color.
Color by Layer: this tool allows you to change the color of all geometries when Color by Category has been applied, using the color assigned to them with the layers in Rhino.
To use Color by Category click on the icon or type HS_ColorByCategory and then introduce the name of the Category Parameter that is going to be used to visualize the geometry. The name introduced needs to be written in the same way as the name of the Category Parameter (it is case sensitive). The colors that will be used to color the geometries will be those that have been assigned to the different categories inside the Category Parameter. Remember that you can check the list of Category Parameters that you have created in the Create Parameters panel. You can use the Category Parameter “Program” that you created before.
Metrics will assign a default orange color to all the Rhino objects that have been assigned a Category Parameter, but whose subcategory has not been assigned in the Parameters Panel. This will allow you to visualize which objects contain that Category Parameter and that still need to be assigned a subcategory.
If you want to go back to the Rhino visualization of colors according to the layers created in that Rhino file, just click on the Color by Layer icon or type HS_ColorByLayer.
