Editing Levels

Once you have created the levels, the text for the levels is linked to the reference lines. This means that if you for example move, rotate or flip those lines, the text will change accordingly, so that you can incorporate that information in your visualizations.

The visualization of the levels on the Rhino environment can be customized in the Levels panel, by clicking on the Settings button. There the height of the text and the display color can be edited. Click then on Done to close the window.

It is important to remember that whenever levels are created for the first time, you may not see the information of the levels displayed on the Rhino canvas due to the units of the Rhino file, since by default Metrics assigns a height of 1 to that text. To correct this, open the Settings menu and choose the height that best suits your Rhino model.

You can also select in this window the Oriented to Viewport option. This setting allows you to orientate the text of the levels according to your viewport. Just be aware that the height of the text is dynamic in this case increasing the further you are from the reference lines and decreasing the closer you are to the lines. You will probably need to set a different height each time you modify the zoom of the model. To exit the menu, click on Done.

The text of the levels cannot be selected in the Rhino environment, however, Metrics incorporates the command Show Levels that allows you to turn on and off the text of the levels in the Rhino environment, so that you can include or hide it in your visualizations. To do this go to the Metrics tab and click on Show Levels or type HS_ShowLevels. The command works as a switch, every time you click on it, it activates or deactivates the display of the information of the levels.
